Community Working Bee

What a fun day we had as 10 Rotarians turned out on a Sunday morning recently to repair the wooden seats and clean and paint the BBQ facility at Harold Reid Reserve, Middle Cove.

These facilities were constructed by members of our Club in 1985 and were again in need of some loving attention.

Under the watchful eye of Rotarian, Ken Ewen OAM, we embarked on a programme of restoration which involved hollowing out the rotted portions of the seats, painting with a timber preservative and filling with a reinforced concrete mix topped with a coloured mortar to match the colour of the timber.

While this work was being undertaken others sanded the BBQ shelter posts and timbers and applied a much needed coat of paint.
